  • For watersport activities, USGC-approved Type III life jackets are required; these life jackets will be provided with watersport add-ons (e.g. Tube, Ski, etc. Rental Add-ons), and will be available for a $5/jacket extra charge for reservations without watersport add-ons.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How old do I need to be to rent / operate a watercraft?
   • You must be 21 years of age to be the primary renter on a rental agreement, as well as, operate a watercraft.
   • Proof of age is required at check-in; if you plan to check-in as a primary renter or operate the watercraft at any time, please bring a valid ID to check-in.
   • Any rentals booked by underage parties will not be launched on the water, and any associated booking fees will be forfeited.
2. Do I need a boating safety course / boating license to operate a watercraft?
   • All watercraft operators will need to provide proof of a NASBLA-approved boater's safety course from your home state at time of check-in.
   • NASBLA-approved boater's safety courses do not expire, and save parties time when checking in.  It is highly recommended all intended watercraft operators take a NASBLA-approved boaters safety course before arrival.  Find the course for your home state HERE.
   • If operators arrive without proof of a NASBLA-approved boater's safety course, they will be required to sit for a temporary boater's safety course, as well as, sign a Boaters' Safety Checklist.  This course takes an average of 30 minutes.
3. Can I keep my watercraft overnight if I have a multi-day rental?
   • Yes!  You are welcome to keep your watercraft at your home or vacation rental overnight during your multi-day rental.  If you do not have a dock to park your watercraft overnight, you are welcome to leave it at ours and return to your watercraft at your leisure.  However, keep in mind we are not responsible for watercraft inapporpriately secured while under your care, even if parked at our docks.
4. Do you allow snacks / drinks onboard?
   • Of course!  Bring all the drinks and snacks, but remember, any watercraft operators are prohibited from consuming alcoholic beverages.
5. Do you allow pets onboard?
   • Absolutely!  Bring man's best friend along for some water fun, too.  Remember to pack water and a bowl for Fido, and supplies to clean up any messes.  Watercraft returned excessive dirty or damaged from pets onboard are still subject to damage charges and the $75 cleaning fee.
6. Do you provide a captain for parties that do not know how / do not want to operate a watercraft?
   • We do have a licensed and insured captain on staff!  Call ahead at 540.565.5659  if you are interested in this service, for pricing and availability.
7. What if there is inclement weather the day of my reservation?
   • Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather, and no refunds or discounts will be issued for no-shows due to inclement weather, or early returns.  Please plan ahead when preparing for your reservation, and cancel or reschedule 48 hours before the start of your reservation to avoid any charges.
